Dr Ian Gee

Ian Gee qualified in 1986.

Ian was born and educated in Guernsey and he is very pleased to be back ‘home’. After he qualified he served in the Royal Air Force – initially in the UK at the RAF Hospital Halton. He moved to Holland to start his General Practice Training. After this he moved to Germany to work at the RAF Hospital Wegberg. This saw him complete his GP Training and he then moved to Northern Ireland. During this tour he also worked with the Search and Rescue teams on a variety of helicopters. His final tour in the RAF was at Leuchars – a Tornado station in Scotland. During his time in Scotland he passed his Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).

He moved back to Guernsey in 1995. In 2006 he was made a Fellow of the RCGP. He is an Approved Medical Examiner (AME) for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and carries out medicals at Cobo Surgery.

His other interests include diving medicine, sports medicine, men’s health and psychiatry. He has an interest in helping patients with drug abuse problems. He is also interested in clinical governance.

Since moving back to Guernsey he has tried to give something back to the community in which he grew up. To this end he is the Local Medical Advisor to the RNLI. He is the Bailiwick Medical Officer and Vice Chairmen for St John Ambulance as well as being a Member of the Order of St John. He is the Honorary Medical Advisor to the Guernsey Island Games Association.
